Eat a variety of proteins. Don’t make it all steak. Have fish once in a while, or chicken. Try tossing some tofu into your next omelet. Or go completely vegetarian for one meal, and have a chili made of many different types of beans.
Most of us have accumulated POUNDS of red meat, fat, toxins and contaminates in the first 30-40 years of life and expect to soft diet have that problem resolved in 2-3 or 4 weeks. NOT going to happen! Our foods contain only a portion of the nutrients and vitamins our parents enjoyed and the diet formula removes even more. This is going to require a life style change and a much greater use of the five letter word.
For one thing, one has to remember that there were no engineering jobs plants during those times. This means that there was no such thing as processed, packaged, or frozen foods. This also means that there was no use of chemicals or preservatives in the foods that the cavemen ate. To be even more detailed, there was no such thing as grocery stores. This means that cavemen had to hunt and forage their meals. So, already a consumer can think of a host of so-called food processing area products that would be off of list of salty foods their shopping list, if they were going to buy a paleo book in order to learn the diet.
Don’t feel bad if the price of your much loved soda becomes more expensive. Instead, thank the government for the added tax because this means they care for your health. Even support them in promoting their “no to sugar” campaign to weight-loss efforts corporations.
We need fat. Fat forms lining of the cell membranes in almost every cell of our bodies. Your brain is composed primarily of fat. If you don’t eat enough of the right kinds of fat, your brain will not get the proper nutrition to function. Eating too little fat can also reduce your testosterone levels (equally important for women as for men).
