In October 2023, a strange bug appeared after Copilot was released to Windows 10 users. This bug moved the icons on people’s desktops with multiple monitors when they used Copilot. Microsoft tried to lessen this annoyance by stopping these users from updating to Windows 11 for now or using Copilot on their systems.
With Microsoft’s KB5039299 update, a new Copilot experience has been introduced. According to the official health status blog post, it solves the icon-jumping bug and improves general Copilot usability by permitting it to be pinned onto the taskbar like any other standard application.

However, just like any big software upgrade, not everything is perfect. Some peculiarities still exist in Windows 10, such as the Settings app’s refusal to let users change their local profile image and a bug that influences the Microsoft Connected Cache.
Equally important is Windows 11, which encountered its taskbar problems after June 2024 when non-security updates were released. Fortunately, the pause that happened with the downloads has been resolved now. It was done to handle big bugs found on systems using particular virtualization software.
