Arc browser, touted as the perfect Chrome replacement by many, has become immensely popular in a short while. Initially released for macOS, the browser soon made its way to iOS and then to Windows.
The browser consumes minimal resources, so you don’t really need a high-end device, both iPhone and PC. And the steps to download the Arc browser are really straightforward and hassle-free!
How can I download the Arc browser?
1. On Windows
- Open any of the installed browsers, go to Arc’s official website, and click the Download Arc for Windows 11 option.
- Once downloaded, run the ArcInstaller.exe file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.
You should now have the Arc browser for Windows 11 installed on your PC.
In case you want to download the Arc browser for Windows 10, it has not yet been released. Though, the team has confirmed that it is under development and should be out soon. If interested, sign up for Arc browser for Windows 10 updates.
Besides, the Arc browser is not yet available for Windows on ARM and PCs with Intel and AMD processors not supporting the BMI2 instruction set.
2. On macOS
- Go to Arc’s official website and click the Download Arc for Mac button.
- Run the setup and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
3. On iPhone (iOS)
- Open the App Store on your iPhone and then search for the Arc browser. Alternatively, you can go directly to Arc’s listing on the App Store.
- Click on Get to install the browser and then follow the on-screen instructions.
The Arc browser is available for download on Apple’s dedicated App Store, making the installation all the more seamless. Last I checked, the mobile browser has got some fantastic reviews. Although, for the Arc browser to run, you will need iOS 16 or later.
Besides, the Arc browser is not available for iPad!
4. On Android
Arc’s official page for unsupported devices tells us that there’s no Android app for the Arc browser yet.
However, given the fact that the developers recently released a Windows version of the browser and the ongoing waitlisting for Arc on Android, it’s evident that the Android version of the Arc browser should soon be available in the Google Play Store, albeit after Windows 10.
As a reminder for the not-so-tech-savvy users, when you search for Arc Browser in the Play Store, an app by the same name does come up, but it’s not the browser. Instead, it’s a rom collection browser and emulator to maintain the game database and play them using the desired emulator.
If you haven’t yet downloaded the Arc browser, I would recommend you do it now and experience the improvements over the other browsers and alternatives everyone is talking about. Personally speaking, I liked the ad blocker in Arc!
Do keep in mind that the browser has a few minor issues, and many reported that the Arc browser keeps crashing for them, but that can be easily fixed.
